Woman Charged with Murder for Monday Morning Shooting

October 18, 2023, Peoria, IL – A Peoria woman, TNashia S. Wash, 18, was charged with First Degree Murder for shooting and killing her boyfriend, Roderick Richardson, 30, early Monday morning in the 1200 block of N. Ellis.

When interviewed by Peoria Police Detectives, Wash said she and Richardson had been arguing about their relationship.  Wash told police Richardson threatened to shoot her and himself. According to the autopsy report, Richardson was shot multiple times, not at close range, including two shots to the front of the body and four to the back.

Wash remains in custody at the Peoria County Jail and is set for a detention hearing on Thursday.
