This week the Peoria County Board for the Care and Treatment of Persons with a Developmental Disability announced their funding award recipients for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The awards came to a total of $1,552,275 to be used for funding community programs.
The program recipients are as follows:
Best Buddies' Peoria County Workplace Readiness Project -- $90,000
Camp Big Sky's Living a Life Like Any Other Program -- $37,275
CWTC's Adult Day Developmental Training -- $70,000
CWTC's Job Readiness Program -- $305,000
Easterseals Central IL's Early Intervention in Natural Environments Program -- $55,000
EP!C's Specialized Job Placement Program -- $350,000
EP!C's Community Integrated Life Skills – Community Day Services -- $350,000
EP!C’s Transition & Post-Secondary Program -- $170,000
HISRA's FOCUS Adult Day Program -- $125,000
The Care and Treatment Board is governed by five members appointed by the Peoria County Board with a stated mission to “identify, prioritize, and create a collaborative effort to meet the Care and Treatment needs of children and adults with mental and other developmental disabilities.” The board is supported through the Care and Treatment property tax levy.
