The Court Security Division of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing security to the Peoria County Courthouse.
The Crime Scene Unit is responsible for gathering, preserving, and processing physical evidence found at all crime scenes within the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction.
The Peoria County Sheriff's Office has two K-9 units. Both dogs are a German Shepherd, born and initially trained in Germany.
The Patrol Division is the backbone of the Sheriff's Office. Newly commissioned deputies begin their law enforcement career in this division, after successfully completing the 560-hour Basic Law Enforcement Class at the University of Illinois' Police Training Institute.
